Fishy fish in Madhubani
Since quite a long time, there was a pending wish such as hands-on for new art but could not get time, perfect mood and also bit laziness to start with new .....was Madhubani art :). I always got attracted toward this art due to its bright colors used and enlightening effect due to black outline :) and attention given to boarders of objects. My last few weeks were just full with exploring about this art, through some Indian art magazines and internet. After some studies of such references I could get confidence to start with my first Madhubani :). This is what I could put myself with this lovely art :).
It is done on natural handmade paper with water colours. I have used black point pen for bordering it.
I will explore few more days with this art and then I have a plan of reusing my mordernised warli concept with madhubani. Soon I will post about it :).

Few words about Madhubani art-
Madhubani or Mithila painting is a style of Indian painting, practiced in the Mithila region of Bihar state, India. Madhubani painting is characterized by line drawings filled in by bright three to five colors and contrasts or patterns.
Traditional Madhubani paintings themes include Ram-Sita, Shiva Parvati and depcitions from daily life, with objects like fish, trees of fruits such as mango and pomegranate and birds like peacock, parrots. Attractive floral motifs act as borders.

DIY Photoframe Tutorial
I have made this photoframe as a recycled project in last month with the help of my daughter, Harshi. She was very excited to do it, as it was all going on for her photo :).
I loved it the way it turned out. So I thought of sharing it's making steps briefly over my tiny blog :).
I
have used last year's desktop calendar, green color handmade paper,
mirror beads, 3-D outliner glitter and a gift wrap paper, glue,
cutter/craft knife.
I have used paper piece of calendar which is just before the thick last one cardboard paper of calendar.
I
have arranged photo at center on it and marked its outline. Then I have
cut out the marked area at a slightly smaller size so that the frame
will overlap the photo slightly.
Then
I have marked the slightly greater cut out on green handmade paper as
compared to cut out area. Then applied glue to four sides as shown in
below picture.
For
decorations, I have used left over mirrors from my painting stuff.
Harshi has helped me sticking them surrounding her photo :). Still it
was plain in look, so in order to make it more colorful, I have cut out
red old gift wrap paper and put it as a boarder below the snap. Harshi
has got more affection towards 3-D glitter outliner, she wanted to have
hands-on on it, so holding her hand, I made a boarder below it.
So how is it? Did u like it....
Tip specially for kids while making the photoframe-
Make the aperture with the craft knife before kid start making the frame.

Peep into my doors! Not a warli this time...
Just thought of sharing one of my handmade stuff with you guys....
We
have been shifted to our own house since 3.5 years. Since that time I
was in search of a unique nameplate for my door with special personal
touch. I am the person who loves to decorate her home with personal feel
at almost each corner of the house. I guess that is why I take much
time to fill in things in my house....I found hardly such a nameplate
which can give a kinda aura when someone enters to my home...Hence I
gave up an idea of buying nameplate and thought of creating one on my
own....
Luckily
some leftover stuff from Subodh's (my hubby) hardware kit had some
plastic plywood kinda sheet, m-seal, araldite...I thought such things
are OK to start with a nameplate..offcourse my drawer is full of acrylic
colors, beads and brushes....
I have cut the plastic sheet with the dimension which I found suitable for nameplate on my door. An acrylic color of earthen (warli
background color left over) was applied on it. It was allowed to let it
dry for some time. Acrylic colors doesn't take much time to dry..that's
why I love them to use...:)
Further
with m-seal,...(unfortunately I had grey, black m-seal which is used
for plumbing work, rather white is best for making some artistic mould
like)...I made Ganesha and snail. Black m-seal gets dried up
soon...hence one need to be fast with shape molding. Ganesha was colored
with golden brown and snail was colored with green, yellow and black.
Please use talcum powder while making such articles with m-seal. I have
applied mirror like beads on the snail's tail. Both the things were
stuck on colored plastic sheet with araldite. I allowed it to dry for
some time. Meanwhile I made letters for our surname with m-seal, which
were stuck on plastic sheet using araldite. Then the alphabets were
colored.
Also I made a boarder on nameplate using m-seal and colored with yellow acrylic. I purposely used irregular shape of alphabets to give a natural, artistic look. One can use stencils if they want proper alphabates.
How is the nameplate? Did you guys like it? Please put your helpful feedback on the same. I would love to read it..:)
I hope you guys njoyed reading tutorial too.
