Wall of fame in Lucknow!
Hi all,
Recently I have started freelance consulting work. This week was full of those activities. By this pace, I think I am going to work on weekdays for my brain and on weekends for my soul (smileys~~~). Yes, you guys guessed it correct, I am going to continue my soul art job on weekends.
This post is about, my past hand-painted Madhubani art and my past post. One of my besties who stays in Lucknow has sent me this pic some days back, when she came to know about restart of my blog n art work :).
So I feel for any artist, happiness is nothing but getting to know their artwork becoming wall of fame in someones home. The same feeling I had when I got the pretty pic from her.

Ugly Duckling- Fusion of Warli & Madhubani
Some time in last days, we visited Oxford bookstore in Bangalore, which is one of the favorite family place for all three of us :). While browsing through the kids section suddenly my eyes went on one book called 'Ugly Duckling'. When I opened it and for few seconds (Harshi's permission for my flashback memories is only few seconds...she will hardly let me be with me for few minutes anywhere :)) I went back to my childhood days.
While making of Ugly Duckling, I was painting water lilies and pond trees, which made me to think about making tiny Warli girls and boys :). This is again attached to my another childhood memory and my pappa. He always introduced me to science fiction movies from childhood. One from the list was the famous Walt Disney movie 'Honey, I shrunk the kids'. I Still remember the the smallest inch kids struggling to reach back to their Dad and home. I tried to do the similar kinda drawings of Warli girls and boys playing on the water leaves and flowers :).
So did you guys enjoy the fusion of major of Madhubani and tiny of warli :). Painting is done with acrylics on handmade paper.
Size: 37cm H x 25 cm W

Fishy fish in Madhubani
Since quite a long time, there was a pending wish such as hands-on for new art but could not get time, perfect mood and also bit laziness to start with new .....was Madhubani art :). I always got attracted toward this art due to its bright colors used and enlightening effect due to black outline :) and attention given to boarders of objects. My last few weeks were just full with exploring about this art, through some Indian art magazines and internet. After some studies of such references I could get confidence to start with my first Madhubani :). This is what I could put myself with this lovely art :).
It is done on natural handmade paper with water colours. I have used black point pen for bordering it.
I will explore few more days with this art and then I have a plan of reusing my mordernised warli concept with madhubani. Soon I will post about it :).

Few words about Madhubani art-
Madhubani or Mithila painting is a style of Indian painting, practiced in the Mithila region of Bihar state, India. Madhubani painting is characterized by line drawings filled in by bright three to five colors and contrasts or patterns.
Traditional Madhubani paintings themes include Ram-Sita, Shiva Parvati and depcitions from daily life, with objects like fish, trees of fruits such as mango and pomegranate and birds like peacock, parrots. Attractive floral motifs act as borders.
