Medicine Warli Buddha

Hello Friends,
This post is continuation of my last tea coasters series. This is 3rd tea coaster based on theme called Medicine Buddha posture. Last month was full of family get together. Hence I could not get much time to work on the pending Warli Buddha tea coasters project. However with lots of energy, now I am back to the routine (smileys~~~).

Few words about Medicine Buddha posture: the right hand of Buddha is held facing downward with fingers extended toward the ground, palm facing outward toward the viewer, a bowl of herbs rests in the left hand upon the lap. The right hand of Buddha in this posture which is facing outward signifies "granting a boon" (blessing) to mankind. The Medicine Buddha is venerated by those seeking health, healing and inner strength. This posture represents the eradication of suffering and illness. The fundamental cause of illness, is the lack of contentment. The need for contentment is indicated by the begging bowl in the Medicine Buddha's left hand.

I have used acrylics on wooden tea coaster. I have painted warli plants around Medicine Warli Buddha. This gives the effect of medicinal plants for the medicinal bowl held in his left hand. I have used coats of mod-podge to save my art work.

So please write me about your opinions/any suggestions on my modern Warli Buddha in Medicine posture.
